PILATES INSTRUCTOR, PERSONAL TRAINER, GROUP CLASS INSTRUCTOR
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. • Current Comprehensive Pilates Certification (Balanced Body preferred) •Current Personal Training Certification preferred (NASM preferred) • Current CPR certification • Strong teaching skills in both private client and group class environments • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work as a team member is required. • A general understanding of the demographics and structure of the community • Strong work ethic and 100% commitment to growth within the business and contribution to the success of the business •Desire and ability to work in a growing hospitality-driven business, teaching a variety of training methods, and focused on delivering outstanding customer service and quality care.
Position Summary - Longevity Fitness Charleston, Inc. seeks a certified Pilates instructor who is goal-minded, solution-oriented, creative, thoughtful, and focuses on contributing to the success of the business as a whole. The person that holds this title can build professional, trusting relationships with Longevity’s clients and fellow team members. These exceptional individuals are caring and dedicated to providing excellent customer service. They show passion not just for fitness, but also for the art of instruction. They are loyal, keep an open mind, show an eagerness to learn and grow, seek to meet or exceed what is expected of them, and willingly contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the studio. They enthusiastically engage in market outreach, enjoy teaching privates and small groups, are open to teaching a variety of class styles and workshops, focus on maximizing their schedule’s client capacity, and are actively engaged in building client/class retention. In addition, they stay abreast of new studies and developments in fitness and related industries.
This full time position requires exclusive employment with Longevity Fitness and a minimum of 25 hours per week. Initially, some of those hours will include onboard training and working in member services. While it is not a hiring requirement, obtaining a personal training certification is required within the first year of employment through Longevity Fitness.

Provide professional Customer Service / Client Care
Fully prepared for and engaged in Personal Training and Class Instruction
Maintain up to date records of client assessments and progress
Ensure the training area is always clean, organized and well presented
Works well with fellow team members to assist with coverage needs, collaborate on class programming, and show support through class participation.
Promotion and Retention
Retaining existing members through effective and caring communication and cross-promotion, keeping abreast of members’ visit frequency, consistent follow up, and exceeding expectations
Stay abreast of client visit frequency in classes and follow up with those when frequency drops
Effectively communicate new promotions, pricing options, and upcoming special events to existing and prospective clients
Engage in existing and prospective client outreach through social media, direct contact (email, phone, letter), and community involvement
Actively cross-promote fellow team members’ services and offerings

The Pilates studio is equipped with Balanced Body Allegro 2 Reformers, Chairs, Cadillac, and accessories (arcs, boxes, balls, etc). Our class formats range from classical Pilates to contemporary, integrating pilates with corrective exercise techniques, strength training, and cardio, while maintaining the integrity of the method.
Ideal candidates will meet the following criteria: • Fully certified in Pilates Mat, Reformer, Chair, and Cadillac (Balanced Body and PMA Certification preferred but not required) • Maintains current certification through satisfaction of CEC’s. • Minimum 2 years experience or 600 hours teaching privates and group reformer classes • Possess knowledge of anatomy and proper body mechanics • Ability to think quickly and creatively according to clients’ individual needs and requests • The following qualifications would be considered a plus: • Experience working with post-rehab clients for injuries and disabilities • Certified in any of these areas: TRX, Barre, Yoga, Group Exercise, Lagree Method • Professional dance background Position Perks: • Access to free classes • Discounts on private training and Pilates sessions, wellness services and retail • Incentive-based structure • Contribution toward continuing education in job related field It is our philosophy to provide a supportive, team environment where employees can thrive and reach their full potential.
