JENNIE BROOKS | Owner, Pilates Instructor, Personal Trainer, Group Class Instructor Jennie Brooks, founder of Longevity Fitness Charleston, Inc., brings an impressive training background and a well-traveled understanding of mindful movement to her studio and her clients everyday. A native of Charleston, Jennie’s pursuits in health and fitness have taken her from the Tuscany and Piedmont regions of Italy to the world-renowned Pilates studios of Northern California. Throughout her journey, she has worked with Olympians, apprenticed with master instructors, and developed a signature style of training that focuses on improving body mechanics and empowering the mind to achieve wellness and longevity through movement. DIANA DOVE | Studio Manager and Instructor A Connecticut native with a passion for both music and dance, Diana was captain of Boston College's (BC) dance team; a founding member of BC's Synergy Hip Hop Dance Company; and choreographer for the BC Dance Team, BC Dance Organization and Synergy. After graduation, she earned her certifications in Group Fitness and Personal Training from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). She is also licensed in Masala Bhangra Workout, Zumba and CPR/AED. Diana has over 20 years of formal dance training in tap, jazz, ballet, and hip-hop.
ANI NORRIS | Personal Trainer, Class Instructor Andrea Claire Norris has a passion for physical activity, which stems from a 14 year dance background and 12 years of running. She fell in love with Pilates after becoming a Yoglates II instructor in 2008. Although Yoglates is a mixture of Yoga, Pilates & calisthenics in a heated room, she wanted to further her education in the classical form of Pilates. In 2013 she went through the mat & equipment certification process, instructed by the prestigious Cecile Bankston of Kathy Corey Pilates. Andrea Claire has accumulated over 600 observation & teaching hours & also holds a Pre- and Postnatal Pilates Specialist Certification from the Center for Women’s Wellness.As a complement to her passion for Pilates, Andrea enjoys giving back to the community through the many charity races in which she participates throughout the year, which have included over 14 half marathons, 7 full marathons, countless 5ks & one triathlon. In addition to her fitness and dance background, Andrea Claire holds a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, as well as minors in Business, Communication & Theatre, from Louisiana State University. Andrea Claire believes in never settling for second best and always has personal goals she sets for herself. She believes in pushing herself a little bit further everyday in order to grow. In any aspect of life, she knows that there is no elevator for success, only stairs that God places on our path. She encourages her own friends, family & most importantly the students to look at life in the same light & of course to smile along the way!
ASHLEY FLANER | Personal Trainer, Class Instructor Ashley Flaner began studying the Pilates method while as a dance major at the University of California-Irvine. After suffering a serious back injury in 2001, she began using many of his ideas and exercises as a form of rehabilitation. Ashley was certified under Lisa Goldin at the Contra Costa Pilates Center in Walnut Creek, CA, in 2002. Her love of teaching and passing on the knowledge of her mentors has led to an amazing career in fitness.
DANIELA REICHERT | Personal Trainer, Pilates Class Instructor Daniela was born in Berlin, Germany and grew up in Freiburg, near the Black Forest. With a passion for health and fitness she started dancing at the age of seven. After she experienced back and knee injuries, she discovered Pilates. She was so impressed with the results from Pilates it motivated her to learn more about it. She completed two comprehensive Pilates courses (Mat and Apparatus) with over 1000 credit hours. Daniela has worked as a Personal Trainer in hospitals and as a Master Pilates Instructor in both Europe and the United States. She has worked with clients of all ages and loves the variety and range of Pilates: from conducting a powerful workout to knowing exactly how to adapt a class for people with various injuries or other physical limitations.
LINDSAY JOHNSON | Personal Trainer, Pre/Postnatal Class Instructor With a combined 15 years of fitness, athletic and yoga experience, ex-professional athlete, personal trainer, yogi, and mom, Lindsay Johnson, is here to help you through your prenatal & postpartum journeys. Lindsay is ISSA fitness & nutrition certified, with a specialty focus in prenatal care, CPR certified, and also carries a prenatal yoga specialty certification from Holy Cow Yoga. Lindsay played both collegiate and professional level volleyball, and has been a resident of Charleston for over 12 years. Her hobbies include vegetarian cooking, golf and relaxing with her family, but her passion is to make the world healthier and happier, one bump at a time.
BOBBY SHAW | Personal Trainer, Class Instructor Bobby’s career in the health and fitness industry has spanned more than 25 years. He received his BS degree from Lander in Health, Physical Education and Recreation. He was part of the initial staff of the first Wellness Center in South Carolina in 1984. He went on to complete his Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of South Carolina. Bobby is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Fitness Director as well as an Exercise Specialist.
DAN HEENAN | Personal Trainer, Class Instructor Daniel is an ACSM certified personal trainer and a TRX Qualified Trainer originally hailing from upstate New York. He developed a love for Charleston after several visits during his time in the U.S. Coast Guard. Following his military service, Daniel received a BA degree from the University of Massachusetts and went on to graduate from the intensive 700-hour Master Course at New York City’s acclaimed Focus Personal Training Institute. It was only inevitable that his passion for fitness, coupled with his altruistic nature, would best be put to practice in the health and wellness industry. The essence of his training philosophy is foster a better understanding of human physicality in his clients, while reinforcing efficient and sound movement patterns in their bodies..
JEANINE PETERS | Personal Trainer, Class Instructor Jeanine started her career in fitness while living in Los Angeles, where she was able to study with some of the leading trainers in the fitness industry. A lifetime runner and all around athlete, Jeanine quickly fell in love with the Pilates Reformer for its ability to strengthen and improve problem areas she had been neglecting in her routine workouts. Originally from Philadelphia, her Pilates training has taken her all over the map, from LA to Chicago, Colombia to Germany, and now Charleston. Jeanine believes that working out should never feel like a chore but rather something you enjoy doing for you! She is also a big believer in strong body, strong mind. Jeanine will motivate you through a high energy, challenging class, leaving you with a sense of pride when you leave.
TARAH HERRINGTON | Licensed Acupuncturist and Reiki Practitioner; Meditation Leader Tarah Herrington came to Charleston from New York City where she worked hand in hand with fertility experts Angela Le L.Ac. and reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. Sami David at Fifth Avenue Fertility Wellness. Tarah is a talented healer and an avid women's health advocate, empowering her patients to take an active role in their own healing process.Tarah's ambition and drive lead her to obtain dual degrees in East Asian Studies and Strategic Communications from the University of Kansas before starting her Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Tri-State College of Acupuncture. She spent 2 years abroad in Japan studying the Japanese language as well as the traditional healing art of Reiki. Tarah combines her knowledge of Eastern and Western integration to tailor treatment plans based on each individual patients needs in their journey to wellness.
JEREMY MAYER | Stretch Therapist Jeremy Mayer joined the Longevity Fitness team in October 2015 as a certified sports physiologist. In this role, he works with professional and recreational athletes - as well as pre and post-surgery patients - on injury prevention and recovery training. Specializing in neuromuscular activation and active flexibility, Jeremy's process includes manual musculoskeletal techniques and posture alignment training. The results are improved movement and increased strength, circulation and balance in his clients.
PAMELA DURANT | Massage Therapist A native of Florence, South Carolina, Pamela DuRant joined Longevity Fitness in October 2015 as a board-certified massage therapist and NASM-certified personal trainer. She is also owner of and therapist for Elevate Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, LLC. Additionally, Pamela has worked for U.S. Soccer as an official massage therapist for the Women’s National Team since 2008. As such, she participated in the 2011 Women’s World Cup and the 2012 Olympics in London. She has acted as massage therapist for many other professional athletes in the WTA and MLS, as well.Pamela has instructed group fitness classes in interval training, circuit training, stretching, yoga and pilates for seventeen years. She has advanced training in myofascial release, kinesio taping, and active isolated stretching. In addition, she is a certified lymphedema therapist, which includes work in manual lymphatic drainage and complete decongestive therapy. Pamela received her Bachelors of Arts from Erskine College in Psychology and History and her Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from University of South Carolina - School of Medicine. Her massage training was done here in Charleston at Southeastern School of Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy, where she was Valedictorian of her class. When she is not meeting with clients for training and therapy sessions, Pamela enjoys jogging with her rescue dog, Benny, practicing yoga and pilates, and reading classic literature and mystery novels. She also enjoys spending down time with family and friends, and learning as much as possible.
STEPHANIE BURG | Nutritionist and Lifestyle Coach Stephanie Burg was a professional ballerina for over a decade. After years of restrictive, disordered eating and utter disregard for her body, a series of injuries took her from the stage and forced her to reevaluate every facet of her life, starting with her relationship to her body. Now a Board Certified Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach, Stephanie is a fierce advocate for the human form, teaching women to return to the innate wisdom and brilliance of their female bodies by shedding outmoded, limiting beliefs and prioritizing excellent nutrition and self-care. Stephanie believes that when a woman loves the body she calls home, she embraces her power to create the life she was born to live.
