Prevention is the best practice toward a long, healthy life--be it prevention of injury, inflammation or disease. As we age, our bone density embarks on a gradual decline and our muscle mass weakens, making us more susceptible to pain and discomfort, and in our elderly years: fractures and falls. Thankfully, this can be prolonged with proper nutrition and supplementation, regular exercise and a conscious lifestyle. Learn early signs of osteoporosis, common exercises, and how your bones can benefit from weight-bearing movement and resistance training.
Team, we made it through the whole series! Whether you do these workouts individually or collectively, on a beach or by the pool, in the morning or afternoon - you will feel all strength and zero regret. As we approach the homestretch of our Bodyweight Beach Series, take a moment to check in with your body and your progress. Do you find certain movements harder than others? Are you connecting your mind and breath to each exercise? While some of these exercises may very well be staples in your fitness routine already, they can be even furthered with proper form, technique and breath sequences.
Our Bodyweight Beach Series continues with round 2: a mix of cardiovascular endurance and stability challenge. Each of these exercises can be layered with an advanced progression; alternatively, you can take it down a notch by modifying to accommodate any injuries or limitations. If you missed the first workout in this series, you can catch up here.

The importance of staying active has been ingrained in our mind for as long as we can remember. We’ve been taught that regular exercise promotes our overall health; however, how many of us can trace this knowledge back to the source? Studies show that family - parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins - positively influence our level of physical activity. A few members of the Longevity community share their own family fitness dynamic and how movement, whether together or apart, has strengthened their bodies and parent-child relationships.
As our founder Jennie Brooks says, "you are only as healthy as your heart, your spine and your mind." The spine is the focal point of the body, and it's crucial for our whole health - both mental and physical - to care for it as such. Stabilizing and strengthening the muscles that support your core help fortify your spine and reinforce the rest of your body. Maria demonstrates 5 exercises that you can incorporate in your regular routine to promote spinal mobility and abdominal strengthening.
Bobby demonstrates 9 upper body exercises that sculpt and strengthen arms, just in time for warmer weather. Versatile, convenient and effective, TRX Suspension Training is the ultimate bodyweight training tool. Suspension training exercise builds strength, flexibility, and core stability all at once, which makes it a great method to safely and rapidly change your body.
Cross-training is not only a pillar of the Longevity method, it is a dynamic approach to promoting overall health on both a mental and physical level.
